World Afro Day will join up with Paulette Hamilton MP to call for the update of UK Law to prevent Afro hair discrimination. There are 650 members of Parliament and the vast majority may not be educated on why this law change is so essential. Research shows that Afro hair discrimination negatively affects jobs, education and health. This legal recognition will help to create a Britain, where everyone can be free to be themselves without fear of oppression and discrimination. 

The government has the opportunity to solve a big problem without big spending! This is more about ‘the will to do right’ for those with a specific hair texture, which has been subject to discrimination for centuries. Naturally human behaviour will seek to divide and discriminate based on differences. Laws are there to ensure people treat each other justly and in the way that they would like to be treated. Britains has the opportunity to lead the world and create this much needed law, especially for children.
